Hi all,
I am in the process of building a bus and having just completed the body shell, I tried to export it to OMSI and ended up with this:
Anyone has a clue what I might have done wrong in the modelling process?
Thanks.

I have the same problem
Someone can help us?
Yep, definitely normals.
First thing you do is remove doubles, they often tend to cause troubles. To do that, press [W] and click "Remove Doubles"
Then you need to recalculate normals. Just press CTRL+N.
That should do the trick.

Thanks. I thought about the issues around normals as well, and as I build up the model, I tend to flip to the texture solid view to try making sure it works ok.
However, as it turned out I found out the problem was that I did not join the bodywork into a single model. What I have done is breaking up the model into bits as I build it up - the four sizes plus the roof, and then try to export it in that state, which makes it looking all funny. I just went back to blender, joined all the objects into one (bar the fake wheels which I use to help lining up the model into position), export it to x and the o3d, and wey-hey:
Thanks for your advice though. I can take some comfort that I'm doing the right(-ish) thing!
Still don't work
I did exactly what you said
Hi Florian, which version of Blender are you working with?
Also, in the bottom of the screen try change "Solid" to "Textured" and send me a picture of that.
Hi Marpe,
I use Blender V2.64a
Here's the picture :
That's odd. Could you delete the lamp object and send the picture again?
That's very odd... Normally you would be able to see only one side of the polygons. Here you see both sides...
Here's a picture without the lamp :
For example I see always both sides of a planes :
I hope you can help me,
Florian
Hallo,
dann zeigen Deine Normalen nach innen. Betroffene Flächen markieren und dann unter Mesh -> Normals -> Flip Normals klicken. Dann zeigen die Normalen nach aussen.
Your Normals show inside. Select affected Faces and then click -> Mesh -> Normals -> Flip Normals. The Normals then show outside.
Mfg,
Uwe
Hallo NL202Fan,
das hat Se7en bereits gesagt. Es hat nix gebracht
Dear NL202Fan,
Se7en already said that. It doesn't work
Works!
I changed Blender V2.6 to 2.4, fixed normals, made a test texture et voila :
Thanks for your help, and ZJ517, Good Luck with your bus!
