Hi - New maps

    First off , apologies for asking a question that has probably been asked many times ( though I have looked and been unable to find a definitive answer)
    I am new to OMSI , I've had it a few weeks and have enjoyed the default spandau routes, however I understand you can add new maps without damaging OMSI.
    Can anyone please provide a step by step guide on adding new maps.I am not completely PC competent , so if they were easy for a novice , I would be very grateful.
    I know you have to install the OMSI addon manager , which I have done , but where to find workable maps and how to install them is still a mystery.
    Thanks in advance to anyone who can help a new frustrated 'bus driver'.

    Hi and welcome to the OMSI community!

    The easiest way to search for addon maps is the Downloadcenter of the Addon Manager. Simply click on "Downloadcenter" and on "Maps"->"Fictional". Then you can choose a map (Bad Kinzau is the best but a little difficult to drive) and click on "Download". Now you should download a *.ams-file (be shure to use not Internet Explorer because it downloads *.ams as *.zip). Once the download is finished just double click on the *.ams file and the Addon Importer should come up. Read the documentation and click on "Weiter" or "Next" (depending on your selection on languange). Once the installation is done you can close the Addon Importer and open the Addon Manager. Now there should be a warning in the head of the window (saying "There are 4 necessary addons left" or something like that). Click on it. Now there should come up a list with addons. Just click on the "Download"-links and install them like you installed the map. If the warning is gone the installation 'll be finished.


    Unfortunatelly, the Addon Manager Downloadcenter isn't very actual, so just view the "Fictional Maps"-Forum here and download the files from there (Order the topics by "Zugriffe" in order to see the most popular maps). Normally there are *.zip or *.rar-files which you can unpack with WinRAR or 7zip (both Freeware). In every map-pack there should be a read-me which includes detailed instructions for installing. But some very good maps (like "Rheinhausen") are very hard to install.


    If you've got any problems ask me here or send me a PM, but keep in mind to always call the name of the map and the problems you have.

    Thanks again for the information in the reply to my question. However I have another question please?
    I managed to add the Bad Kinzau map and have had much enjoyment with the different routes.
    What a huge contrast from the spandau maps.
    I have also added a new bus URBANUSS PlussII - however after a few stops - there is always a passenger that stands by the entrance , even though there are many empty seats. All new passengers are then unable to enter the bus.
    I have only had this problem on this bus , is there a way to rectify this - I thought all passengers sat down automatically.
    Any further help would be much appreciated as its a great modern bus , but the passenger access problem is 'driving' me mad.

    This bus doesn't have a ticket machine - so it is strange giving imanginary tickets - I will double check regarding picking up money , but I think I had.


    I have added the NL202 bus as well and this is performing great.

    This is an error of the vehicle not you're game, there are quite a few vehicles out there that don't have Ticket Machines included so you just have to turn Ticket Selling to 'None' in the Options.
