    After the release of Morphi's Citaro Soundpack v2.7, I have decided to release this update to the Citaro CNG that improves the realism of its performance characteristics. Engine performance curves were taken directly from documentation supplied by Daimler AG and the ZF 6 HP 502 gearbox (for the 185 kW version) or the ZF 6 HP 592 (for the 240 kW version) has been implemented, along with the Voith DIWA 864.3 (185 kW version only). To install this pack, you will need Citaro v2 by alterr and Zane's Citaro Upgrade Pack v2.7.

  • Nice work so far, but you have to be careful when altering the constfiles. The gearbox scripts need to be adjusted to fit those new torque entries. Otherwise you will end up in a quite harsh shifting (when torque is too low) or slipping (too high).

    I'm aware that the engine constant files have a relationship with the gearbox constant files (as engines and gearboxes require homologation in real life too!). The shifting of the Citaro with the modified files is 99% accurate. The Citaro CNGs do slip like that on the change from mechanical 1st gear to hydraulic 2nd gear and I have extensive experience with local Mercedes-Benz buses with the exact same powertrain and gearbox performing like this from the factory. The only two known issues in the tweaks so far are the ABS 'grabbing' upon lock up in 1st gear on the ZF gearbox (particularly when starting on an uphill grade) and the ZF script having FAR too much torque restriction throughout which will require me to do some further investigating.


    Thanks for your work with the sound mods and your input into others' mods. You've really made a huge difference for us all!

  • After a little fettling, I have deciphered more of the ZF gearbox constant files and have altered them dramtically with positive results. Version 1.3 has been released with additional bus variants (as described in the OP) as well as the gearbox updates. Please ensure that you once again delete ALL .bus files before applying this new version.

    EDIT: Version 1.4 released to fix a typo that I made in the ZF constant files affecting performance and smoothness in kickdown 1st.


    Version 1.5 released. As far as I know, all outstanding issues relating to the performance of the Citaro CNG have been solved.

  • Version 1.7 has now been released. This enables OMSI 2 compatibility and the 2-door diesel variants are now equipped with OM 457 hLA engines and ZF 5 HP 502 gearboxes.


    Version 1.8 has now been released. This fixes the idling behaviour of the OM 457 hLA engine when coupled to the Voith D864.3.

  • For me, everything works now in OMSI2, except the money the passengers give you appears in the air, and so does the change. Can anyone else confirm this?..

    Have you copied all files within the Money directory from your OMSI 1 directory if you're using OMSI 2?

    Have you installed the original Citaro bus and the Citaro Upgrade Pack as described in the original post?

    released. Upon further testing, I discovered that a problem with OMSI 2 prevented idle sounds in the ZF variant from playing correctly, so I have included two separate versions of the tweak pack in the archive, one for OMSI 1 users and one for OMSI 2 users. I have also increased the volume of the turbocharger wastegate sound during the gearchanges of the ZF CNG variant as the sounds were originally too quiet.
