Hello everyone.
Below are some wheel replacements for various Mercedes buses. I always thought that the originals were a bit lacking, and this is just my attempt to make them look better.

All wheels come painted grey, but editing the textures is pretty easy for anyone with basic picture-editing skills.
The textures are also 1024x1024.png. I didn't notice any impact as far as FPS goes, but feel free to resize them to 512x512.dds if you need some extra FPS, or if you plan to use them in AI buses.

Instructions for instalation are included inside the various .zip files. Simply replace the sections inside the readme with the corresponding sections in the model.cfg file.

Looks nice. Would be good to have some before-after screens for comparison in the first post though, so that one can see the improvement at first glance.

Do they really fit the O 305 from 1977? Didn't they change the axes sometime around 1980 so that the wheel rims looked different before 1980 and after?

ACMG: Wierd, I didn't find any differences between the 1st gen and 2nd gen O305. I used these two pictures for reference, and the wheels look prety much alike I think.

There are a lot of examples without the front wheel nut covers though, and I did find very few buses where the front wheels had less "holes" in the rim. I just didn't make them because I don't like them.

Also, I forgot to mention that the wheels for the O305 are compatible with both the Std77 and E2H84/85.

I don't think these show two different generations of O305. Notice that the Stülb front (as in the Berlin versions of the bus) does not mean that the bus is newer than one with VÖV front (the front used for the Std77). Both fronts were available at the same time at least in the 1980s. But earlier versions of the bus had different exterior mirrors with grey-looking attachment, probably some metal. Later versions hat black plastic exterior mirror attachments which also had a different shape.
However, I looked it up and you are right: The change I meant was done in the early 1970s, so the wheels fit perfectly.

Really a great mod, I do love it!

Just tested it at the C2 but there seem to be three bugs as you can see on the picutures:

1.) There is no shadow at the front vehicle part anymore.
2.) The Mercedes Benz star at the front is gone.
3.) The wheel on the left in the middle looks a bit weird.

That's quite interesting, I never knew that the VöV and the Stülb were available at the same time. You are right though, Mercedes-Benz changed their hubs somewhere around 1970, you can see that in this O305 prototype: http://img.favcars.com/mercede…ies_1967_wallpapers_1.jpg
Now THAT would be a fun bus to drive in OMSI.
