  • Thank you, Whoami. I had tried the first mod already, but this time just left it alone. It works better for now. Thanks again.

I found where the problem is for me, but it is hard. It is the middle mirror that reflect the passenger area (I think this was mentioned before). However, I do not want to get rid of it. Is there a way to fix it so that it does not cause problems?

  • Und was einige schreiben, das der Bus als KI nichts schildert stimmt auch. Sollte auch noch behoben werden.

  • Ok, so far just by watching this I've noticed:

    • a wrong ignition key position
    • a damn wrong brake pedal position (I think this is well known)
    • a missing RIBAS (or something like that)
    • a missing red LED in the cockpit

Also, have a listen to this SU 18 E6, CityWide LF, CityWide
It's well known that Scania uses rebranded engines. Listen carefully to the bass produced by the engine while downshifting and you'll find out that the engines are pretty much the same.
    Don't mind the transmission/axles sounds.

This is only true with the (C)N250 and (C)K250 chassis. Other models are always with a Scania original engine. There are no DAF components whatsoever.

Also the ring LED lights are missing from the front and some of the textures also need rework. But lets all take a breath and focus on the development. Could someone please make known in English what are the challenges regarding the board computer? I understand that all work is released under Creative Commons licencing and therefore I would imagine there are no issues further modifying the model & textures.

Still, this is very close to it.

It's the complete opposite thing. You have to ask Alterr and if he gives you the permission to, you're allowed to your modifications.

Also, please, in the following update consider to use the latest version of the ZF Ecomat/Ecolife transmission script. The one distributed with your mod is a bit outdated. Uh, almost forgot: Why using a 6AP 1700B when the GN14 has a 6AP 1402B?

Couple things frustrate me highly in your post.

    1. BVG. GN 14 Citywide's are with CN320 chassis and Scania DC09 320 hp 1650 Nm euro 6 engine. 6AP1402 ecolife cannot take the input torque of this engine. This engine is always paired with either ZF Ecolife 6AP1700B or Scania Opticruise gearbox. The box you mentioned is mated with the 230/250 engines.

    2. I am using 2015 ZF scripts made by Morphi with permission.

    3. None of us agreed to a licensing policy when we dowloaded this bus therefore I cannot think why any of us were legally bound to not release modded 3D work. If this were the case the bus would have had to be released as payware with a license.
But I for one think it would be rude to tackle such a project without the consent of original authors as their work has all of this hypotethical discussion even possible.

In anycase I am getting tired of the somewhat dry opposition to newcomers, especially when discussion / modding is based on a BVG bus for omsi. It is in all of our best interest to have as much new ip development for this simulation to keep it alive and well.

EDIT: As an addition I will say that re-using files made by others without permission in a mod can be interpreted entirelly different than choosing not to use a part and instead including only your own or legally obtained files. But this is a naive topic as hopefully we all want as much modding as possible.

Also I value the work of Alterr and Wizard_rus & original 3D author highly as the quality is ridiculous as well as Homery's and everyone else's involved work with this bus.

  • It isn't necessary to be that salty.

Never spoken about permissions from Morphi, neither of an obsolete script. I just said that the one that other people are using now is a bit (maybe this time's more clear) old. Try to compare it with the one that is being used with the Citaro (which is the latest) and you'll find out that some important lines of code about the version of the gearbox identification are missing.

I do agree with you but even if the authors haven't specified it, you need to ask Alterr to have access to the model. He owns it. The model was crowdfunded and I thought "well, it is pretty obvious that the model will be released to anyone"

And I do apologize for the 6AP 1402B fact, is just that I can't remember 100000 engine torque outputs and be precise when writing ( so late at night thought

    :D

) and I'm not familiar with Scania busses. And there's more! There is a website that lists all the GN14 and the GN15 as vehicles equipped with that transmission.

I do like what you did; your work has saved my time since I was trying to put something together but I gave up. I've spent so much time making a decent soundmod per the C2 and C2G for the italian OMSI community that I had no force to go on.

    Hope you'll forgive me

    Cheers.

  • My post was not ment as a direct attack to yours.

Instead of six or more different people complying different patches to this bus, or duplicating the exact same thing, we need to make a single attempt to get it to a point where it needs to be.

It is time for an open discussion and put our heads together to create the Scania this community and every other Omsi community deserves. There are some extraordinary minds present here but we need to start communicating openly.

  • Okay...sorry, but I'll just briefly cut into this discussion to mention something.

There might be a bug in the door scripts. I tried closing the front doors but only the first wing closed and I could hear the second trying to but it would not close, no matter how many times I pressed the door button.

Not to mention, I'm still getting the jumping because of system/program performance, not physics. I'm starting to think the entire model needs to be redone. I remember hearing somewhere that this bus has too many polygons in the model.

    You may continue.

  • Are you using a quadcore / hectacore CPU? I've heard problems from people using either a 2 core / 6 or more core prosessors.

Sorry for all the typos. I'm writing this with my mobile.

  • I just looked...surprisingly, I have a quadcore, but Task Manager only shows two. I'm looking up how to fix this.

Then you likely have a 2 core with hyperthreading and the performance issues are mainly of your CPU, not the model. On the requirements it is stated that a 4core is required for it to work and this is even true for most of Omsi content.
