Please note that OMSI is no longer under development. Some of the developers are now working on a new simulator. Further information concerning the LOTUS-Simulator can be found here.

Welp, so I found out I had been importing the bus into OMSI about 5% smaller than real scale after I started adding passenger positions to it and realised that they looked like giants

    :|

Since that meant I had to re-export everything, I decided to finish up the model before doing so.

Please ignore any missing textures/unfinished models

    :P

    Sinto-me em casa agora

    :D

So, I've been driving around for a while and I quite like the bus. Some details, like the different coloured interior lights, were something I was surprised to see (yes, this is actually realistic

    :P

    )
Things like door sounds, and the distinctive "fwweeee" of the air tank release are really nice - they are really familiar to me.

    Some constructive criticism though:
The model itself isn't bad at all, but it lacks detail in some areas, like the wheels. The textures are good, albeit a bit blurry in some areas. The thing that bothers me the most though is that the bus is too shinny, but this is very easliy fixable

    :)

The sounds samples for the engine aren't bad, but the sound mixing of them is a bit wierd in my oppinion.
Also, the animation for the ramp button on the dashboard doesn't work, it just dissapears when you click on it.

I hope you keep working on this or other projects, it makes me really happy to see Portugal more and more represented in OMSI.

So how can i control now the display? There are no bottuns on the steering wheel.

I didn't model them because the S41x doesn't have buttons on the steering wheel - this is controlled via the dashboard. I didn't even notice the button thing untill now.

    :P

If/when I model the buttons, I'll update the main post. No promises though - like I said, this is just a quick mod with parts ripped out from another bus.

Type of project: Visual and sound modification for the Mercedes-Benz C2Ü

Name of project: Mercedes-Benz C2Ü Mod

    Involved persons: Pedro

Details: This is a simple mod for the C2Ü, including a new steering wheel, new wheels and a sound mod.
These parts are all ripped straight off my (still very much in progress) S41x project, so these will be the models you'll see in that bus. I've been getting some requests to release this, so I just decided to go for it.

    :)

Also, I request your oppinions on the engine sound (as this will also be the sound used for the S41x, at least for now) - as I still need to improve in this area, and criticism is the best way to do it.

    :)

This is JUST a *engine-sound* mod, not a full soundpack.

To install the mod, you'll need to edit several .cfg files, but the instructions are included in the download.
This mod is just for the C2Ü since I've been using it as a test bed for the engine sounds, but I can import the models into the regular C2 if there's interest for it.

    Concerning constructive feedback:

Any oppinions, good or bad, encouraged.
If you guys tell me what I did wrong, I can fix it and make it better. So please, give me your oppnions.

    Pine forests now possible

    :P

I still need to adjust the colour balance, so everything looks like it belongs in the same forest. But I should release this soon, when I add some more tree models.

Also, each tree model is 3k/4k polys, and performance doesn't seem to drop that much, even in denser areas. However, 2D trees are still prefferable to use at a big distance from the road.

I've been working on some foliage for a side project of mine - still not 100% happy with the trees, and I defenentley need to add more variety still.
Not detailed enough for a first person shooter, but perfectly acceptable for driving a bus from a distance I think

    :)

    Testmap|No bus

Also, here's a picture of my main project that, unfortunatley, I haven't been able to work as much as I'd like to - but it's still breathing I assure you.

    :P

For anyone having this problem (it was a bug that sneaked thorugh in the v1.1 update - never noticed it since it never broke my game in any way) download this fix:
    http://www98.zippyshare.com/v/aEX0o7x1/file.html

Drop the .txt files inside O405/script and replace - the problem should be fixed.

Absolutley amazing. The model looks very smooth.
The dashboard texturing looks excellent - even the Blaupunkt radio deck. Deffenentley feels like a 70's Mercedes inside.

    :D

Keep going, we'll be waiting eagerly.

    :)

    Pedro:
Did the bus completely reinstalled, but there can be no single variant filter since the update, I've already tried everything I can think of.

I'm not sure if I understand you completely, sorry... but do you mean that the bus doesn't work at all since the update?

    The update has been released!
    Here's the full changelog:

Also, this will obviously break all mods since it messes with a lot of files - yes it will overwrite some scripts/model files.
Morphi's soundpack works with some additions to the constfile, the real logos mod will work perfectly, but reinstalling them is necessary.

@ThomasDD LP: I don't know why that happened. There was only the initial V1.0 release and this V1.1 patch, I have no idea why it updated.

Ok guys, just to clear things up:

I understand your frustration of course. And yes, at full price, you should expect to have a patch by now.
But I haven't exactly *taken a vacation* after release and ran away with your money. Infact, the patch has been ready for around a month now - I've been fixing the bugs you guys have been reporting since release day.
Unfortunatley, when dealing with payware projects, you have to submit yourself to certain bureocracies, like Chrizzly said. The patch hasn't been uploaded to Steam because, quite simply, I don't have the power to do so. All I can say is that, once it's up, I'll let the community know. I don't really have any more information I can give you.

After all, do you guys really think that I'd make the patch and then keep it for myself?

    :P

Just please, be patient. When it's out, it's out.

A patch should be released soon, thank you for the bug reports

    :)

    Here's the full changelog:

    I think that's it.
If you have any mods, please be aware they MAY break after installing the update. The update doesn't mnake any major changes to the scripts, but some mods may require re-install.

Thank you for the feedback guys.

    :)

    ACMG: Of course.

    :P

I guess I *could* provide the original seat meshes... I don't really like the idea to simply offer my base models to be honest - but you guys did pay for the bus, so you should be able to do whatever with it.
Reddy: I'll add the lights. They were an oversight.

    :)

Marc1972: Sure, added to the bug list.
    Caramba42: Will fix, thanks.
@marios1994:The rear door is openable with the red button on full manual mode. Trigger name is cp_doorrelease_toggle
Antonio: The thing is that they're as real as possible. Yes, I admit that misc sounds like the starter sounds a bit off place, but unfortunatley I don't really have good samples for this. The sounds were taken from an 1987 OM447h fitted bus from Australia, and that's just how they sound. Admittedly they sound a bit different from a 1992 O405 fitted with a OM447h-II (which is the most common one, at least here in Europe, and even pre-1992 ones in Germany were retro fitted with different mufflers to keep up with emission regulations, as far as I'm aware) - but below are two videos that you can hopefully compare the two. But unless someone can provide decent enough samples, reworking the sounds is not planned really.

Guys I'd really like to ask you something:
If you find a bug, please say so in big BOLD letters in your post. There is a lot of posts in German, and I can't guarantee I'll translate them all. And even if I do, Google Translate doesn't really make it clear if you are just having a discussion or making a bug report. Of course I'm not telling you to stop wiritng in German, but if you'd please just make it clear that you're filing a bug report that'd be really helpful.

    :)

cooper: I guess I can do that. The rubber strips are mapped to the texture, but they aren't really repaintable yet. I can fix this for the update.

    :)

Now, here's a list of all the fixes I've done so far:
    - Light points for fog lights/hazard lights in the dashboard
    - Fixed the red turn signals (they're orange now like they're supposed to)
    - Fixed the interior mesh error for the O405
    - Added water spray for the wheels
    - Added wiper washer effect
    - Optima script has been corrected: station forwarding now works propperly, and manual selection of the bus stops now works as well. Also, you can now choose whatever available route, instead of just being able to toggle between route 1 and 2
    - Optima now plays a sound when something is clicked
    - Eurofare script has also been corrected to include changes to the route selection
    - Fixed wiper lever animation
    - Fixed heating scripts
    - Fixed missing stop bell for the O405
    - Corrected the front wheels. Thanks to Tristan98 for pointing out they were too "oval" - picture with the results below
    - ANNAX fonts now centered (thank you very much to cooper)
    - Passenger position for O405G fixed
    - Passengers no longer complain about dark interior (thank you Unorthodox Paradox)

    Still to do:
    - Attempt to fix the O405G moving while stopped
    - Rollband errors for the AI version
-Missing sounds for roof hatches/passenger windows

Any more reports more than welcome.

    :)

Hmm, so there seems to be a few more bugs that I thought...

About the O405G moving while stopped - I have no idea about this. I don't really know what causes this, nor how to fix it really. The articulation physics in OMSI were never perfect (even with the GN92) and I think all articulated buses have this bug to some degree. I have to play around a bit to see what *minimizes* this effect, even though I'm not sure I'll ever be able to completely get rid of this. Any oppinions more than welcome on this subject.

    Player1990Ge: Nice gray interior.

    :D

Caramba42: Sorry, I'm not going to change anything else in the model.
Reddy: Nice find, I completely missed that. But I'm not going to add any more standing passengers. For one, passengers can't tell the difference between seats and standing places, so if I add more standing places, passengers will probbably ride standing most of the time. Plus, I don't really want to hear people complain that passengers go through each other when the bus is full... call this a gameplay compromise.

    :)

Welbus: Maybe that's the bounding box being stuck in the ground? I don't know, I only got this problem when I got near 5FPS, but that's clearly not your case. Does this happen everytime? And with both buses or just the O405G?
juu9612:For the door stickers, you need to edit the specular file for those - please look at the Weissinger repaint for examples. The exterior speakers are always bound to the solo O405 texture regardless of whether you're using the O405 or O405G. The interior grabpoles are reapintable by editing the o405(G)_int.png texture. The glass door handles are repaintable with the O405_misc.png file.
Tatrafan99:Well, I literally tried to bug out the bellows by slamming the bus in reverse untill the animation reached it's max and I was unable to reproduce this. Re-install maybe?

Ok so, I'm going to update the list with all the bugs found so far.

    - Model fail in the rear section of the interior (just above the rear window)
    - Station forwarding script for the Optima (probbably just going to redo the entire section that takes care of this... at the moment it seems to work only with certain maps)
    - The rollblind problem Marc1972 posted (thank you for the pictures, it makes it so much easier for me to understand what's wrong

    :D

    )
    - Missing light for fog light and hazzard buttons (thanks Tristan98

    :)

    )
    - Missing sounds for the roof hatches/passenger windows
    - Missing stop bell sound for O405G
    - Add water effect for the wiper washer
    - Tune wiper/turn signal lever animation (thanks once again to Tristan98 )
    - Correct the SDK's to include the model for the rollbands
    - Fix red blinker lights
    - Fix the O405G moving while stopped (hopefully...)
    - Matrix/rollband issues with the AI buses
    - Fix heating scripts
    - Add exhaust smoke/water spray from wheels

Ok guys so, first of all, thank you so much for the warm reception the bus got on release day.
I feel very happy to see so many repaints for the bus already, and it's only day one! And so many Youtube videos (even though I can't really understand German...) - thank you guys for feeling it was worth of your time.

    :D

That being said, it's also become aparent that the bus still has some bugs left. I hope you guys understand that with so many scripts running in parallel, I wasn't able to bugfix it 100%. As such, I'm going to compile a list for a future update:
    - Model fail in the rear section of the interior (just above the rear window)
    - Station forwarding script for the Optima (probbably just going to redo the entire section that takes care of this... at the moment it seems to work only with certain maps)
    - The rollblind problem Marc1972 posted (thank you for the pictures, it makes it so much easier for me to understand what's wrong

    :D

    )
    - Missing light for fog light and hazzard buttons (thanks Tristan98

    :)

    )
    - Missing sounds for the roof hatches/passenger windows
    - Missing stop bell sound for O405G
    - Add water effect for the wiper washer
    - Tune wiper/turn signal lever animation (thanks once again to Tristan98 )
    - Correct the SDK's to include the model for the rollbands (I just completely forgot to add that...)

If you guys have anything else, please post it here.

    :)
