Do you publish that "special" bus too??
Who, knows... There will be an april fools day next year as well
Probably the best April fools I have seen on this forum. Still scared me a bit due to the high quality of the model.
Thank you!
Don't worry, guys everything is fine in reality! Started marrying the "ass" of the articulated bus with the front, so now I sort of have the solo 7700 variant.
The public transport company of Budapest bought 38 of these used, from the Dutch transport company Veolia. Several things were changed since they arrived. They got aircon installed, and also got openable windows. And here is my try at replicating it
-
Very sad news. Today after switching on my computer, when i tried to open the 3D model of the bus, i found out that the data was corrupted. Almost 90% of the model was lost, that means I'm back to start...
I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped me out, and everyone who was following the development, but after this, I'm thinking very hard if it's worth restarting.
Here is how the corrupted file looks, after opening...
And now, take a look at your calendar. You've been fooled, my friend! -

Rounded the switches down a bit. After texturing each button, I will correct the exterior, and finish the cabin hopefully.
So within the 7700A there will be 3 sub-variants, 2004, 2005, 2006. The newest has the new dashboard, also the latest two series has bigger opening side windows. Later, we might also make the solo variant, and the "old-brother" 7000, both solo and articulated. This is the plan at the moment, we'll see how life plays out
-
The left side of the main dashboard is almost completed. But I will also make a "worn" texture set, because as you can imagine this isn't how shiny the Volvos look like at the moment
-
Once again, we're back in the driver's seat.
Thanks to Sprintex, the dials on the dashboard were added.
It looks quite nice for being the first textured render, but the steering wheel and the centre dashboard panel will be remodeled, because they do not exactly match the shape of the real one.
Also, here is a terrible try at painting the older livery... At least now I can see that some parts of the exterior will need to be remodeled as well, due to inaccuracy.
Regards

Very very good work.
Thank you very much for this pictures.
But i think the texture of the wheels are a little bit to bright.
So i mean the wheels on the back. The wheels on the front are topDon't worry, the rear wheels will get darker textures. The reason for it being different is that the photo was taken on a sunnier day

I bet all modellers know that feeling, when you just wanna know how your door opening will look in OMSI...
The aircon was moved to its correct location, and the new wheels were added:

Hey,
The project looks very nice. Greetings from Vilnius, we too have Volvo 7700A buses. Anyway, I want to ask the author: Do you have a plans to make 3 doors version, like in Vilnius? Of course, I can help with repaints and sounds, I have aqquitance drivers, which drove Volvo 7700A bus, so I can make it.Hi,
At the moment only the 4 door version is planned, if you can provide technical drawings and photos of the 3 door variant i will consider it.
The project is not dead btw, but I don't have much free time for it at the moment due to school. Here are some new pictures for you guys:
-
You make the old and new BKK paint? Bocs a rossz angolért xd (lesz új és régi BKK festés is?)
Of course.
the seat-model is very lowpoly. invest more polys.
Will be doing so, currently the project is on a bit of a hold due to school and other activities
-
Some news.
Our team members are working hard, even when they run into technical difficulties that would stop others...
Meanwhile I started texturing the seats, and also the dashboard.
...and completely re-did the front, although it is still not finished
That's it for now, hope you drivers have a great day !

-
very nice, you will make ZF and voith?
Only ZF will be included in the first release, but at a later time I'm sure modders will make a Voith transmission available for it.
-
Work did not stop. Few other members jumped on board, speeding up the process of finishing this beauty.
Thanks to padarmartin, and the very helpful team at the BKV Kelenföld Bus garage, we got a chance to make measurements and photograph some details on one of their Volvos.
Thanks to UP, and his amazing camera, we gained some incredibly sharp images of the small little details.
Like this one:
Another newcomer to the team is Sprintex, he will be doing most of the texturing around the dashboard. I'm quite convinced with his work so farAnd before I vanish once again diving into 3DS Max to continue the work, here are some interior shots for you, still unfinished but starting to take shape:
Greetings!

Hi,
It's thus the Volvo 7700A I and not the 7700A II for help.
Great project!
Thank you!
Yep, it's the first series. As you can see i corrected the headlights since then so it looks like on the I.
Also, I'm just gonna leave this render here as I'm going on a vacation, so there will be no progress reports for a while
